Prof. Jane Harding obtained her medical degree at The University of Auckland and Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Oxford. She trained as a Paediatrician in New Zealand and undertook postdoctoral training at the University of California in San Francisco. She is currently Professor of Neonatology at the Liggins Institute, University of Auckland where she leads the LiFePATH research group. Her research interests concern the interaction of nutrients and growth factors in the regulation of growth before and after birth, perinatal glucose regulation and the long-term consequences of treatments given around the time of birth.
Prof. Gavin T. L. Brown is a psychometrician and a cross-cultural psychologist of assessment. He researches the assessment of student achievement and learning outcomes. He focuses on the design, format, administration, marking, and feedback of assessment processes. He holds a Ph.D. in Education from The University of Auckland. He has held academic roles since 2005 at the University of Auckland and the Hong Kong Institute of Education (2009–2011). He is an Honorary Professor at the Education University of Hong Kong, an associate professor at Umea University in Sweden, and is a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science. Before academia, he was a teacher in NZ high schools and as a tutor of EFL for 13 years and 9 years in standardized test development in New Zealand.
