Author Biographies

Carlos Jiménez de Parga is a Computer Graphics Researcher and Book Writer. He obtained a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science (2010) and an M.Sc. degree in Software Engineering and Computer Systems (2014) from the National Distance Education University (UNED), Spain. His doctoral thesis was acknowledged with a "summa cum laude'' distinction in October 2019. He lectures as a Tutor-Professor of Symbolic Logic and Discrete Mathematics at UNED Cartagena, Murcia, Spain.
Sergio Calo Oliveira received a B.Sc. degree in Physics (2020) from the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), Spain, and an M.Sc. degree in Intelligent Interactive Systems at Pompeu Fabra University of Catalonia, Spain. He has worked as a Research Fellow at the Centro Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at Pompeu Fabra University under the supervision of Professor Anders Jonsson. His main research interests include computer vision, graphical neural networks, and reinforcement learning.
José Manuel Cuadra Troncoso received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Mathematics (2000) and his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (2011) from the National Distance Education University (UNED), Spain. He is an Associate Professor in the Artificial Intelligence Department of UNED, and his main research interests include mobile robotics and medical image analysis.
Ángel Miguel García-Vico received a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the University of Jaén, Spain, in 2015 with an Extraordinary Award. He has also received an M.Sc. in Data Science and Computer Engineering from the University of Granada, Spain, in 2016, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Jaén in 2020. He currently teaches as an Assistant Professor with the Control and Communication Systems Department at the National Distance Education University (UNED), Spain. He is the author of 10 research papers and has made more than 10 contributions to international conferences. His research interests include supervised descriptive rule discovery, deep learning, big data, and data stream mining.
Rafael Pastor received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Physics in 1994 at Complutense University, Madrid, Spain, and his Ph.D. in 2006 at the Spanish University for Distance Education (UNED), Madrid, Spain. He is an Associate Professor in the Control and Communication Systems Department at UNED and, since 1994, has been working at UNED's Computer Science School of Engineering. He now serves as the Dean/Director of the Engineering School. He was Innovation Manager of the Innovation and Development Centre of UNED from 2004 to 2009. From 2009 to 2011, he served as General Manager, adding innovative services to UNED's learning model. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE, the Spanish Education Society, and the SNOLA (Spanish Network of Learning Analytics) network.
