Daniel Osmar Suarez-Rico holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and works as a researcher and professor in the Department of Physiology at the Centro Universitario de Ciencias de la Salud, Universidad de Guadalajara, Mexico. He teaches physiology and pharmacology at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His research interests include drug repositioning using advanced laboratory techniques such as Western blotting, PCR, ELISA, and cell culture. He also conducts studies in human disease genomics and investigates the role of the microbiota in metabolic and infectious diseases, with a focus on microbiota-derived metabolic signals. Professionally, he has coordinated hospital pharmacy services, contributed to implementing quality-management systems aligned with international standards, and worked in microbiology within the pharmaceutical industry. He has supervised undergraduate theses, demonstrating his commitment to academic mentorship. He is recognized as a National Research Candidate in Mexico's National System of Researchers (SNII).
