Dr Mahmoud B. Agena is a researcher specializing in neonatal infectious disease, particularly focused on how bacterial pathogens interact with neonatal cells and factors influencing infection severity. His PhD research established a novel in vitro model for studying these interactions, and his subsequent publications suggest a deepening focus on pathogen virulence traits like capsule variants, stress resistance, and genetic regulation.
