Dr. María Miranda has a degree in Pharmacy (University of Navarra) and a Doctorate in Pharmacy (University of Valencia). She has a degree in Optics from the University of Barcelona and a degree in Food Science and Technology from the University of Valencia. Her research activity is framed within neurodegeneration and neuroprotection, especially regarding diseases that affect the retina or the central nervous system. She has published more than 40 scientific contributions in international and national magazines and/or books. She began her teaching activity at the CEU Cardenal Herrera University in 2002. Her teaching has always been linked to the area of Physiology in different degrees (Pharmacy, Medicine). She currently has two six-year terms of research and is accredited as a full professor by ANECA. Regarding management functions, she is currently the Coordinator of the Degree in Optics and Optometry. She has been the Erasmus Coordinator of the Pharmacy Degree. She is currently the Director of the Department of Biomedical Sciences.
Prof. Dr. Francisco J Romero is a Professor of Physiology, initially Assistant Professor at the University of Valencia from 1986-2001, and thereafter served as Vice-Probost for Research and Development at the Universidad CEU-Cardenal Herrera, Spain from 2001-2010 and as the Vice-provost for Research and Innovation at the Catholic University of Valencia "San Vicente Martir" from 2012 to 2016. He received his Doctor degree (Ph.D.) in the field of Physiology from the University of Valencia in 1985. Prof. Dr. Francisco Javier Romero is consultant in Requena General Hospital (Spain) and MediPark in Olten (Switzerland). Prof. Dr. Francisco Javier Romero's research keywords include neuroscience, ocular pathophysiology, cell death, antioxidants, oxidative stress, and lipid peroxidation.
