Dr. Biswanath Ghosh Dastidar was a Felix Scholar at the University of Oxford, UK, from where he graduated with a Distinction in Master’s in Clinical Embryology. Subsequently, he completed clinical training in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Mumbai, India, where he was awarded the University Gold Medal, followed by further stints at Cambridge, UK, and Antwerp, Belgium. At present, he is a Research Director at the GD Institute for Fertility Research (GDIFR) in Kolkata, India, and co-lead at the Center of Excellence (COE) in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) at the Institute of Post-Graduate Medical Education and Research (IPGMER) and SSKM Hospital—India’s first fully funded IVF unit established as a public–private partnership. He has been awarded ‘Youth Icon’ and ‘Star Performer- Inspirational Icon’ awards by the Indian Society for Assisted Reproduction (ISAR). He has been presenting original research at ESHRE and ASRM since 2010, published papers in reputed international journals including 'Nature' and 'The Lancet' group publications, and is a frequent faculty lecturer at Indian and International Congresses on IVF-ART and gynecologic endoscopy. His interests lie in optimizing IVF outcomes in difficult groups (PCOS, DOR), embryo assessment, and improving access to reproductive medicine and surgery in resource-constrained settings.
