Prof. Dr. Kefu Yu received a B.Sc. degree in paleontology and stratigraphy from Nanjing University in 1992, an M.Sc. degree in marine geology from the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 1995, and a Ph.D. degree in geochemistry from the Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 2000. From 2002 to 2004, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Tongji University. He worked at the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, from 1995 to 2013, serving as assistant researcher (1996), associate researcher (2000), researcher (2001), doctoral supervisor (2003), and second-level researcher (2011). Since 2014, he has been working at Guangxi University. He has been
focusing on the study of coral reef geology, ecology, and the environment in the South China Sea for many years.
