Beatrice Desiree Simo-Kengne is a professor in the School of Economics at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. She holds a PhD in economics from the University of Pretoria and master's degrees in monetary and banking economics, economics, and financial economics from the University of Douala, Cameroon; the University of Pretoria; and the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. Her research interests lie in the fields of sustainable development, including but not limited to housing, asset prices, agriculture, environment, performance evaluation, risk management, gender, health, and trade. She is an alumna of the World Academy of Sciences/DFG, an affiliate of the African Academy of Sciences, and serves as a mentor for the ClimapAfrica program of the German Academic Exchange Services.
