Sudarshan Singh’s basic training was in Pharmacy, with a specialization in Pharmaceutics. During his PhD at the National Institute of Medical Science, Jaipur, India, he worked on the development of a natural multi-functional co-processed excipient and on assessment of its transmucosal efficiency by performing in vitro and ex vivo tests; additionally, he worked on the optimization of natural permeation enhancers for topical preparation of drugs on an animal model. He later worked at the pharmaceutical college, conducting lectures and practical experiments on novel drug delivery systems and the development of a co-processed excipient. He is well trained in animal experimentation, including transmucosal/transdermal evaluation, and cell line studies, including major molecular biology experiments. He is also well versed in the handling of major instruments, such as UPLC, DSC, TGA, flow cytometer, spray dryer, contact angle analyzer, and texture analyzer. Along with handling instruments, he has also performed a pharmacognostic study of natural materials and H&E staining of organ and skin sections. Presently, he is working on the development of various topical drug delivery systems for mitigation of inflammation and dressing for the management of various types of wounds. Additionally, he has extensive experience in the fabrication of food preservation packaging materials incorporated with bioactive compounds or metallic nanoparticles.
