She holds a Master’s degree, a Ph.D., and a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Dentistry (Pediatric Dentistry). Her research focuses on dental caries and salivary metabolomics in oral and systemic diseases, in collaboration with the National Center for Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (CNRMN) at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She has supervised 15 master’s and 3 doctoral theses and currently mentors one postdoctoral fellow. Prof. Fidalgo has authored 131 publications, 24 related to metabolomics, and she serves on the editorial board of five journals and is a member of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) and its Brazilian Division (SBPqO).
Ana Paula Valente is currently a Full Professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Brazil. She earned her degree in Pharmacy from UFRJ in 1986, followed by a Master’s degree in Biological Sciences (Biophysics) in 1989, also from UFRJ. She completed her Ph.D. in Biochemistry at the State University of São Paulo (Brazil) and later conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Pennsylvania (USA), focusing on Biological Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR). Her research expertise is in Biochemistry, with an emphasis on macromolecular chemistry. She specializes in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance of macromolecules and Metabolomics. Over the course of her career, she has authored 138 scientific publications in these fields. Professor Valente is an accredited advisor in the Graduate Program in Biological Chemistry at UFRJ and is an active member of the Brazilian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SBBq) and the Brazilian NMR Association.
