Hyojeung Kang received his Ph.D in Plant Pathology from Texas A&M University in 2004. He worked as a Postdoctoral fellow at The Wistar Institute (2005–2010). In 2011, he moved to Kyungpook National University and was promoted to Professor in 2021. His research topics mainly include gastric cancer, EBV, oncolytic virus, and epigenetics
