Dr Alessandro Siani received his Biology B.Sc. and Molecular Biology M.Sc., both summa cum laude, at the ‘Federico II’ University of Naples (Italy), followed by a Ph.D. in Medical and Human Sciences and a Secondary Science PGCE, both awarded by the University of Manchester. With a research background in the cellular and molecular bases of human pathology and a keen focus on science communication, education, and pedagogy, he has authored several peer-reviewed papers and book chapters that have been published in both biomedical and educational journals. After a four-year secondment as Associate Head of Department, he currently works as a Senior Teaching Fellow in the School of the Environment and Life Sciences at the University of Portsmouth (UK), where he achieved his Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy in 2017.
