Dr. Francisco J. Urbano is a professor in the Department of Organic Chemistry at the University of Cordoba, Spain. He completed his doctoral studies in organic chemistry in 1991 and has published over 155 papers in peer-reviewed journals. He is currently developing his research activities at the Chemical Institute for Energy and Environment (IQUEMA), where he has recently led several projects on photocatalytic hydrogen production (PID2022-142275OB-I00, GLYCATVAL) and photocatalysis-based organic synthesis (TED2021-132224B-I00, PHOTOBIOACETALS). He is member of the Spanish Society for Catalysis (SECAT). His research interests include hydrogen production, photoreforming, glycerol valorization, glycerol photoacetalization, TiO2-based photocatalysts, and WO3-based photocatalysts.
