Prof. Barry F. Quinn graduated from the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, University of London, which subsequently merged with King’s College London. He completed his specialist training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospitals and intercalated an MSc (Hons and Distinction) with clinical training at the Eastman Dental Institute, University College London. He also completed a PhD at King’s College London. He joined the University of Liverpool in 2021. He is presently Secretary General for the Association of Dental Education in Europe, Past-President of the International Association of Dental Research (IADR), Education Research Group and the British Dental Association Metropolitan Branch (largest branch in UK), President-Elect for the Prosthodontic Research Group (IADR), President of the Section of Odontology for the Royal Society of Medicine, member of the Dental Schools Council's Clinical Academic Workforce Planning Committee, and NIHR ClinEdR committee. His leadership extends to various advisory roles, including being a Simulation Advisor for the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm (2022) and a member of the UK Government No.10 Delivery Unit Group - Ops Leaders & Acute Clinical Reference Group (2024). Education guidance invited panellists for the European Federation of Periodontology and the European Society for Endodontics (2023).

Dr. Amitha Ranauta qualified as a dentist from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1996. On completion of vocational training and whilst working in general dental practice, she pursued her special interest in ethics and law by completing her Medical Law degree at Cardiff University in 2000. She started working at Barts and The London in 2006 as a clinical lecturer and is now a Professor of professionalism education. She leads the teaching of Professionalism, Ethics and Law and Communication Skills in the dental curriculum. She was appointed as an honorary lecturer of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons in 2015. She obtained her PhD degree in 2016. Since then she has explored the Role of Reflective Practice in General Dental Practice, examining patient feedback and the role of patients as educators. She was Associate Dean (Dental Foundation) at Health Education England till May 2023. She chairs fitness to practice panels at QMUL and at the regulator, the General Dental Council.
