Spiros Zinelis graduated from the National Technical University of Athens in 1994 from the Department of Mining Engineering and Metallurgy. In 2001 he fulfilled his Doctorate study in the section of Metallurgy and Materials Technology and since then belongs to personnel of Department of Biomaterials of School of Dentistry/National and Kapodistrian University of Athens since 2001. In 2004 became a faculty member (Lecturer) and since 2021 he has been promoted to Professor. In 2023 and 2024 he is included in Top 2% Scientists List for both fields (career and year) which is published by Elsevier and Stanford. He is a fellowship member in Academy of Dental Materials (FADM) and associate editor of Orthodontics and Craniofacial Research (Wiley) and Clinical and Experimental Dental Research (Wiley) and member of the editorial board of Dental Materials, Journal of Endodontics, Dentistry Journal, and reviewer for 40 international and 3 domestic scientific journals. He has served as external reviewer for projects submitted for funding in 6 domestic and 6 international organizations His research work summarizes more than 163 publications16 chapters in books, more than 6500 citations and h-index 46 (google scholar). His research focuses on research and development of biomaterials and the study of aging mechanisms based on retrieval analysis.
