Author Biographies

Dr. Rena Katsenou is a postdoctoral researcher and early childhood educator specializing in hybrid ethnography of human–artificial intelligence interactions in early childhood education. She holds a PhD from the School of Philosophy at the University of Ioannina, where she explored how ritual practices and interactive media—such as video games—co-construct children’s early experiences of social reality. Her current research focuses on the design and analysis of dialogic interactions with AI-powered agents, with an emphasis on co-agency, as well as the development of critical and metacognitive thinking. Her methodological approach combines autoethnography with action research, drawing on theoretical frameworks from phenomenology, posthuman theory, and the sociology of knowledge. She is a member of the Institute for Games Research (IGR) at Ionian University and participates in interdisciplinary projects that explore AI, the cultural dimension of technology, and innovation in teacher education. She has presented her work at international conferences and contributes to the design of educational interventions aimed at fostering AI literacy and ethics in early learning contexts.
