Jason M. Stephens, PhD, is a Professor of Psychological Studies in Education and Academic Head of the School of Learning, Development and Professional Practice in the Faculty Arts and Education at the University of Auckland. His primary research interests include human motivation, ethical functioning, cheating behaviour, and the promotion of academic integrity. He is
a co-author of two books on schooling and moral development (Educating Citizens and Creating a Culture of Academic Integrity)
as well as numerous journal articles and other publications related to motivation, morality, and misconduct among secondary and tertiary students. He is the Principal Investigator of the Research on Academic Integrity in New Zealand (RAINZ) Project, Vice President of Research and Outreach for the International Centre for Academic Integrity, a member of the Executive Board for the Association for Moral Education, and serves on the Editorial Boards for the Journal of Moral Education and the International Journal for Educational Integrity. Jason earned his BA at the University of Vermont, MEd at Vanderbilt University, and PhD at Stanford University, USA.
