Michal Zajac is a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Alabama, specializing in artificial intelligence and data science. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science and is currently completing an MBA. His work focuses on large language models (LLMs), ontologies, knowledge graphs, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). He is currently using AI to organize and extract insights from national datasets such as MEPS, NSDUH, and NIBRS to advance rural health resilience. He is also applying AI to enhance flood-risk communication through more effective, data-driven storytelling. He aims to bring people together and support communities by applying technology to real-world challenges.
