Liyong Ren is a professor at the School of Physics and Information Technology of Shaanxi Normal University. He is the director of the Xi’an Key Laboratory of Optical Information Manipulation and Augmentation (OMA). He received his Ph.D. in Optical Engineering from the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 2004. He worked at the Xi’an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, from 2004 to 2019. He was an associate professor at the State Key Laboratory of Transient Optics and Photonic (2004), a professor (2009), a doctoral supervisor (2010), and the director of the Research Department of Information Photonics (2013). He served as a JSPS Fellow at the University of Electro-Communications (UEC) in Japan from 2007 to 2009. From March 2019 to date, he has been working at the School of Physics and Information Technology of Shaanxi Normal University and is the head of the Advanced Optical Imaging Research Team. He is mainly engaged in the research and development of advanced optical imaging, information photonic technology, and applications, as well as teaching in optics and optical engineering. He has presided over more than 20 scientific research tasks, including key projects/general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National 863 Program, etc.
