Author Biographies

Ms. Nisha Sharma is an assistant professor at the University Institute of Computing, Chandigarh University, India, with over 12 years of academic experience. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in land monitoring using remote sensing. Ms. Sharma holds a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) from Punjab Technical University. Her research interests include remote sensing, Google Earth Engine (GEE), and their applications in environmental monitoring. She has authored several research papers in international conferences and contributed to book chapters in the field. Her teaching expertise lies in digital image processing, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
Dr. Sartajvir Singh is a professor and associate director at the University Institute of Engineering, Chandigarh University, India. He completed his PhD studies in Electronics and Communication Engineering at the I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University and has been awarded more than 10 awards and honors. He has filed 75 innovations/patents at the Indian Patent Office (IPO), with 35 granted/awarded. He has published more than 75 research papers in various journals. An active IEEE member, he engages with IEEE Young Professionals, IEEE GRSS, IEEE Sensors Council, AGU, EGU, and ISPRS. He has served as a keynote speaker and resource person for numerous workshops and webinars. He has also edited two conference proceedings and ten books with publishers such as Wiley, De Gruyter, Bentham, Elsevier, CRC, and Apple Academic Press. His teaching disciplines include digital image processing, machine learning, and automation, and his interests involve remote sensing, Google Earth Engine, and geosciences.
