Dr. Victor M. Alania is a senior researcher at the Institute
of Geophysics, Tbilisi State University, Tbilisi, Georgia. He obtained his
M.S. Engineering degree in Geology, and PhD degree in Geology from Tbilisi State
University and Georgian University of St Andrews. Dr. Alania’s research centers
on the structural evolution of contractional mountain belts, quantitative
structural modelling of growth strata and fault-related folds, interpretation
of seismic profiles, active blind-thrust faulting for earthquake hazard and
risk assessment, and forward kinematic modelling. He is also a member of
several international associations and programs (e.g., AAPG, EGU, IASGT).
Dr. Alexander Razmadze is a senior researcher at the A.
Janelidze Institute of Geology, I. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University,
Tbilisi, Georgia. He obtained his PhD from Tbilisi State University in 2021.
Dr. Alexander Razmadze’s primary research interests include structural geology
and tectonics, faults and related folds, syntectonic sediments, their formation
and geometry, structural style of deformation and kinematic modeling, foreland
basins (Mtkvari and Rioni), oil and gas reservoirs, and interpretation of
seismic profiles.
