His research spans from biology and epidemiology of plant pathogens to sustainable crop protection, from food safety (mycotoxins) to food security (postharvest losses), from plant pathogen diagnostics to plant–microbe interactions. He worked on several national and European projects (Horizon 2020, FP7, COST Action, PRIMA, LIFE+, EIT-Food, Tempus, Interreg IIIC, Asia-Link, EFSA). Convenor, member of scientific committees, session chair, and invited speaker at several international and national congresses. Author of 2 books, 14 book chapters, and 4 patents.
