Author Biographies

Francesca Fusi is currently a Veterinary Manager at the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale della Lombardia e dell’Emilia Romagna in Brescia (Italy) and works for the National Reference Centre for Animal Welfare. She is supporting the head of the centre and actively contributes to issuing scientific opinions at the request of the Ministry of Health regarding the welfare of both farm animals and pets. She graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Parma, Italy (2010). She obtained a post-graduation specialization in Animal Health, Animal Farming, and Livestock Production at the same University (2018). She was recently appointed Co-Chair of the Animal Welfare Sub-group within the Collaborative Working Group on Animal Health and Welfare (CWG AHW) of the Standing Committee on Agricultural Research (SCAR). She had already been involved as an expert in the Animal Welfare subgroup in previous years and will work together with Gérard Grémaud (Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office, Switzerland) in the management of the group.
