Qiao Dong earned his BS in Civil Engineering from Southeast University in 2003 and his PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 2011. He is now a Professor at the Transportation College of Southeast University. His work in pavement engineering has resulted in 140+ SCI/EI publications, 10 invention patents, and 4 books published by Elsevier, Springer, and Southeast Press; memberships, including the Bituminous Materials Committee of ASCE and Pavement Maintenance Committee of TRB; and editorial roles for Cleaner Materials, Coatings, and other journals.  Professor Dong has led 14+ research projects funded by TDOT, NSFC, and provincial agencies, while serving as a reviewer for 60+ international journals and conferences. His research interests include data-driven pavement infrastructure maintenance and preservation, pavement test and performance evaluation based on artificial intelligence, transportation infrastructure instrumentation and sensing, multi-scale characterization and simulation of pavement materials, and development of sustainable pavement materials.
