Author Biographies

Dhanushka Wijesinghe received his B.Sc. (Eng.) degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, in 2013. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at North Dakota State University, USA. Prior to his doctoral studies, he served as a lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering, Southeastern University of Sri Lanka. His research interests include biomedical signal processing, wearable sensor technologies for healthcare applications, physiological monitoring systems, and machine learning for biomedical data analysis. Mr. Wijesinghe is a student member of the IEEE and an associate member of the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL).
Dr. Ivan T. Lima Jr. is an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering with tenure at North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND, USA, where he has been a faculty member since 2003. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (Photonics) from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in Baltimore, MD, USA in 2003. He is a registered professional engineer in the State of North Dakota. He authored or coauthored 50 archival journal papers, 93 conference papers and presentations, 3 book chapters, 1 U.S. patent, 1 U.S. patent application, and 1 provisional U.S. patent. His publications received 1719 citations (Google Scholar). He is a Senior Member of the IEEE Photonics Society, a Senior Member of Optica: Advancing Optics and Photonics Worldwide, and a Senior Member of SPIE: The International Society for Optics and Photonics. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of the journal Micromachines. His research interests include biomedical engineering and photonics.
