Miranda Reiter, Ph.D., CFP®, is an Assistant Professor in the School of Financial Planning at Texas Tech University, where she teaches the next generation of financial planning professionals. As an award-winning researcher, Dr. Reiter has published numerous scholarly articles and is the author of the audiobook, Six Steps to Manage Your Money. Her recent recognitions include the 2024 Montgomery-Warschauer Award, the top award from the Financial Planning Association and the Journal of Financial Planning for outstanding research, the 2024 Morningstar Best Paper Award from the Academy of Financial Services, and the 2023 InvestmentNews “See It, Be It” Award which recognizes financial planning professionals who exemplify success and inspire others from diverse backgrounds to embrace the profession. Before joining academia, she worked as a financial planner at firms such as Raymond James and USAA. In addition to her career in financial services, Dr. Reiter has been an educator in France and the Ivory Coast. She received her Ph.D. in personal financial planning from Kansas State University.
