Author Biographies

Hong Pang received her Ph.D. in entomology in 1997 from South China Agricultural University. Over the past 20 years, she has been affiliated with the School of Life Sciences and School of Ecology at Sun Yat-sen University, where she serves as a professor of entomology, director of the Museum of Biology, and principal investigator (PI) at the State Key Laboratory of Biocontrol. She has authored over 260 research publications focusing on the origin and evolution of insect diversity, systematic classification of Coleoptera, biological control, population genetics, and resource utilization of ladybird beetles (Coccinellidae). Her published works also included Colored Pictorial Handbook of Ladybird Beetles in China (Science Press) and Ladybird Beetles of the Australo-Pacific Region (CSIRO Publishing). She is Vice Chair, Division of Biological Control & Division of Paleoentomology, Entomological Society of China;  Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Environmental Entomology (2019–2023); Editorial Board, Zoological Systematics (2021–2026); and Section Editor, Insects (2022–present).
