Prof. Jesús Sergio Artal-Sevil received a B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Zaragoza, Zaragoza, Spain, in 1997, and an M.Sc. degree in renewable energy and energy efficiency and an M.Sc. degree in electronic engineering both from the University of Zaragoza, in 2014 and 2016, respectively. He worked in the automotive industry as a Design and Development Engineer in the vehicle electrical and electronic technology division from 1997 to 2001. Since then, he has participated in various research projects in the fields of renewable energy applications, energy storage applications, and off-grid systems. He is currently a Researcher and Full-Time Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Zaragoza. His current research interests include power electronics, resonant and soft-switched power converters, the modeling and control of converters, solid-state transformers, flexible alternating current transmission systems (FACTSs), and power conversion applications.
Prof. Dr. José Antonio Domínguez-Navarro received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Zaragoza, Zaragoza, Spain, in 2000. In 1992, he joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Zaragoza, where he is presently a Full Professor. His experience includes several research projects related to the optimization of electric power distribution networks. His current interest areas are applications of soft computing in electric power systems, power distribution network planning, electric markets, metaheuristic optimization, and artificial intelligence.
