Denise Mafra is a Full Professor in the Department of Nutrition at the Federal University Fluminense (UFF) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She completed her Ph.D. in Experimental Nutrition at the University of São Paulo (USP) in Brazil, with postdoctoral positions in Lyon, France (2007), Stockholm, Sweden (2017), and Glasgow, Scotland (2021). Her teaching disciplines include "food as medicine for patients with chronic kidney disease."
