Dr. Sándor Szekeres obtained his PhD degree in 2018 at the Doctoral School of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Veterinary Medicine. After his graduation, he started working at the Department of Parasitology and Zoology of the University of Veterinary Medicine in September 2018, and in addition to teaching, he also plays a major role in the department’s research activities. Starting from the epidemiological situation of urban hedgehogs and their parasites (including viruses), through the epidemiological and phylogenetic situation of foreign ticks, he also researched the topic of parasitic protozoans spread by other vectors (fleas and blood-sucking bayonet barn flies) and birds. He is also a member of several domestic and international research collaborations. In recognition of his excellent scientific work in his field, he was awarded the Jermy Tibor Award in 2021.

Prof. László Ózsvári is the Head of the Department of Veterinary Forensics and Economics and the vice rector for educational affairs at the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest (UVMB). Earlier, he worked at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development as the Head of the Animal Health and Welfare Unit taking part in national control and eradication programs of contagious diseases in different species and collaborating with stakeholders both nationally and internationally. He graduated as a veterinarian at UVMB and received his PhD degree in Management and Business Administration from Szent István University (SZIU) and his MBA degree from Webster University. He is an experienced associate professor with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. He has multidisciplinary expertise in animal health economics and management, veterinary public health and food chain safety. He takes part in many national and international research projects and has performed research across multiple species (e.g. ruminants, pigs).

Dr. Miklós Tenk received his diploma at the University of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. After graduation, he was employed by the Department of Obstetrics and Reproductive Biology and in 1995 he started working at the National Institute of Animal Health, where he mastered the diagnostic methods of many specialties. His workplace became the Department of Bacteriology, where he mainly worked with mycoplasmas in addition to routine diagnostics. He completed his PhD work at the Veterinary Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 2005. He was hired by Ceva-Phylaxia in 2006 as an R+D team leader, where his main task was the management and supervision of the development of bacteriological vaccines, planning and technical implementation of bacteriological R&D projects. From September 2020 to June 2021, he worked as an R&D manager at Mikrolab Laboratóriumi Kft. Since 2021, he has been working as the head of the Department of Epidemiology and Microbiology, University of Veterinary Medicine.
