Author Biographies

Sorin Marcel ECHIM obtained a bachelor's degree upon graduation from "Mircea cel Batran" Romanian Naval Academy (1991-1996) in naval electromechanics specialization, and in 2008 he received a master's degree with the dissertation "Energy management in the current context of the world economy and relevance about the activity of specialized maritime transport" and is now attending the Doctoral School of Energy Engineering of the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest. After a 25-year career in the Romanian Naval Forces (1996-2021) in which he coordinated endowment and modernization projects and coordinated research and development activities, starting in 2023, he was hired as an engineer at the Romanian Research & Development Institute for Gas Turbines COMOTI, promoted to the same year as a research assistant, and from 2024 as a scientific researcher. His research topics mainly include hydrogen energy, fuel cell systems, pollutant emission reduction, hybrid propulsion systems, and naval energy systems.

Professor PhD engineer, National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest, Energy Engineering Faculty, Hydraulics, Hydraulic Machines and Environmental Engineering Department. Ability to coordinate doctoral theses, Educational and Research Experience/design in the hydraulic machines field.
