Prof. Timothy B Niewold is the Director of the Barbara Volcker Center for Women and Rheumatic Disease at the Hospital for Special Surgery, and a Professor of Medicine at the Weill Cornell Medical College in New York. He has been awarded the Mary Betty Stevens Prize for Lupus Research from the Lupus Foundation of America and the Henry Kunkel Young Investigator Award from the American College of Rheumatology. He is a former Chair of the Scientific Advisory Council of the Rheumatology Research Foundation, and a past President of the Central Society for Clinical and Translational Research. His interests currently involve the use of personalized medicine in the treatment of autoimmune disorders.
