Dr. Firdous Kausar currently works as an associate professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. Prior to Fisk, she worked as an associate professor and assistant professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Sultan Qaboos University, Oman, from 2017 to 2023. She also worked as an assistant professor in the Computer Science Department at Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from 2010 to 2017. Her research interests include network security, access control, authentication and key management, cybersecurity data science, IoT security, blockchain, digital forensics, biometric cryptosystems, and machine learning. She has co-organized several international workshops and conferences, served on many technical program committees, and reviewed papers for several journals, conferences, and workshops. She is a senior member of IEEE.
Dr. Hafiz Asif currently works as an Associate Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Sultan Qaboos University. He received his BSc in Electrical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) in 2002 and his MS degree in Computer Engineering, from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) in 2007. He completed his PhD in Communication Systems from Lancaster University, UK, in 2012. He worked at HW Communications Ltd., Lancaster, UK, for about 1 year as a trainee engineer on different research and development projects. He is also a Chartered Engineer (CEng), an IEEE senior member, and the vice president of the IEEE Oman chapter section. His research interests mainly include performance analysis, time series, wireless communication, visible light communication, and computer networks.
