Author Biographies

Zhuoyao Deng is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Environmental Design. She previously completed both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the School of Art and Design, Guangdong University of Finance and Economics, under the supervision of Associate Professor Wei Bi. Her research interests include public space adaptability, environmental perception analysis, and multi-criteria decision making in spatial planning. She focuses on the application of hybrid MCDM methods—such as Fuzzy Delphi, DEMATEL–ANP, and VIKOR—to evaluate spatial resilience and user-centered design strategies. Her current doctoral research aims to develop adaptive evaluation frameworks for rural public spaces based on multi-stakeholder perception differences.
Qingkun Du is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Design. He previously completed both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the School of Art and Design, Guangdong University of Finance and Economics, China. His research interests include design theory, visual communication, cultural creativity, and digital media applications. He focuses on the integration of design methodologies with interdisciplinary approaches, combining visual culture, communication strategies, and emerging technologies. His current doctoral research explores innovative pathways in design education and creative industry development, emphasizing the interaction between cultural identity and design innovation. Bijun Lei is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Design. She previously completed her Master's degree at the School of Architecture, Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering, Guangzhou, China. Her research interests include landscape design, rural public space planning, spatial adaptability evaluation, and cultural landscape preservation. She focuses on integrating perception-based evaluation methods and adaptive design strategies to explore rural revitalization and sustainable spatial governance. Wei Bi is an Associate Professor and Ph.D. in Design at the School of Art and Design, Guangdong University of Finance and Economics, China. He also serves as a supervisor for both academic and professional Master’s students. Dr. Bi obtained his Master’s degree in Design from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, completed his Ph.D. in Design at National Taiwan University of Arts, and conducted his postdoctoral research at Wuhan University. His research interests include urban studies, cultural and creative industry design, product and interaction design, and digital media and publishing communication. In recent years, he has led or participated in more than ten national and provincial-level research projects, including those funded by the Ministry of Education, Guangdong Provincial Philosophy and Social Sciences, and other regional institutions. Dr. Bi has published over 30 academic papers in core Chinese journals and international peer-reviewed journals and conferences, including SCI, CSSCI, and EI-indexed outlets. He holds four national patents and has received multiple international design awards, such as the iF Design Award and the French Design Award. He also serves as a reviewer for several journals and international design competitions.
