Banujan Kuhaneswaran is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Southern Cross University, Australia, specialising in flood forecasting and deep learning applications. He holds a B.Sc. (Special) in Computing and Information Systems from Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka with Second Class Upper Division honours. Banujan has authored over 15 peer-reviewed journal publications in machine learning, data science, and artificial intelligence, appearing in Scopus and DBLP-indexed journals. His research expertise encompasses machine learning, deep learning, social media analytics, and disaster management systems. He serves as a reviewer for international journals and conferences.
Prof. Kaveenga Koswattage completed his PhD at Kobe University, Japan in 2012. He received his BSc degree in Physics from the University of Colombo in 2004 and MSc in Physics from Kobe University in 2009, respectively. He worked as an Assistant Professor at Chiba University, Japan from 2012 to 2016. Currently, he works as a Professor at the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. His research interest is in the surface and interface analysis and characterization of some organic, inorganic, and biomaterials using synchrotron spectroscopies in VUV and soft X-ray regions. Prof Koswattage recently received more than LKR 350 million (USD 1.1 M ) from the ADB/ Competitive Research Grant as the Principal Investigator. He is also an Adjunct Professor (honorary position) at General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University.
