Prof. Eli Schwartz is a Full Professor (clinical) at
Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, and the Director of the Center
of Geographic Medicine & Tropical Diseases at Sheba Medical Center, Tel
Hashomer, Israel. He is also the Head of the Molecular Laboratory for Tropical
Diseases at Sheba Medical Center and the president of the Israeli Society of
Parasitology and Tropical Diseases. In the past, he also served as president of
the Asia Pacific Travel Health (APTH) Society. He has been deeply involved in
tropical and travel medicine since 1987. He gained his field experience while
working for several years in Asia and Africa. His latest book “Tropical
Diseases in Travelers” (Wiley-Blackwell) was published in 2009.
