Mohammad Nadeem Ahangar is a researcher and software engineer specializing in AI, wireless communication, and autonomous vehicles. Currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Huddersfield, his research focuses on AI-aided beam tracking in autonomous vehicles using 5G/mmWaves, incorporating technologies like IoT, machine learning, and deep learning. Since December 2022, he has worked as a Software Engineer at AMRC Northwest, University of Sheffield, contributing to innovative software solutions. He holds a Master’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the University of Huddersfield (2020) and received a distinction in January 2021. His publication, "A Survey of Autonomous Vehicles," explores communication technologies and challenges in intelligent transport systems. His research interests include 5G, IoT, machine learning, computer vision, and data analytics, with a focus on digital manufacturing. He participated in the Connected Everything Funded Placements Program, receiving a grant to work on projects emphasizing transparency and accountability in manufacturing.
Zohaib A. Farhat received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Air University, Pakistan, and the M.Sc. degree in Embedded Systems, followed by a Ph.D. in Visible Light Communication and Intensity Modulation (PPM) from the University of Huddersfield, U.K. He is currently the Theme Lead – Digital at the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC), part of The University of Sheffield, U.K., where he leads multiple high-impact digital transformation initiatives across the manufacturing and research sectors. His work spans both Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 technologies, including Embedded Systems, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Large Language Models (LLMs), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and the evaluation of AI trustworthiness in industrial decision-making. Dr. Farhat’s current research interests include the development of advanced embedded systems, the integration of AI with industrial networks, the design of knowledge management systems, and the deployment of explainable, secure, and reliable AI in manufacturing environments.
Dr Aparajithan Sivanathan is the Head of Digital Technologies at the AMRC and leads advanced industrial connectivity research. He holds an MSc in Mechatronics Engineering from King’s College London and a PhD from Heriot-Watt University. Sivanathan's track record includes securing over EUR 16 million in prestigious research grants from funding bodies such as DSIT, DCMS, BEIS, HVMC, Innovate UK, and EPSRC. He has also been instrumental in securing over EUR 1million for commercial research and development from major industrial players, including BAE Systems Air, BAE Systems, Sprit AeroSystems, Boeing, AWE, DAF Trucks, and several SMEs. In 2023, Sivanathan was appointed Chair of the UK Telecoms Innovation Network (UKTIN) Manufacturing Working Group. His research interests include advanced connectivity solutions for manufacturing, 5G/6G, ultra-low latency closed-loop control, real-time systems, manufacturing informatics, cybersecurity, knowledge capture, supply chain network analytics, and Industry 4.0.
