Xinpeng Liu received his M.S. degree in Sustainable Energy and Environmental Engineering from the University of Osaka. He is currently a Ph.D. student in the Computer Vision Lab at the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, the University of Osaka, focusing on plant analysis and computer vision.
Xu Kanyu obtained his bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Technology from the College of Computer Science at Sichuan University. He is currently pursuing a master's degree at the University of Osaka, majoring in Computer Vision Lab at the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology. His research focuses on plants and computer vision.
Risa Shinoda received her M.S. and Ph.D. in Agricultural Science from Kyoto University in 2022 and 2025. Since April 2025, she has been serving as a Specially Appointed Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, the University of Osaka. She is engaged in research on the application of image recognition to plants and animals, as well as vision-language models.
Hiroaki Santo received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in information science from the University of Osaka, Japan, in 2018 and 2021, respectively. He is currently an assistant professor with the Department of Multimedia Engineering, Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, the University of Osaka. His research interests include computer vision and machine learning.
Fumio Okura received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in engineering from the Nara Institute of Science and Technology in 2011 and 2014, respectively. He has been an assistant professor at the Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research, University of Osaka (formerly known as Osaka University), until 2020. He was also a JST PRESTO researcher from 2017 to 2021. He is now an associate professor with the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology at the University of Osaka. He is researching the boundary between computer vision and computer graphics. His recent research interests include computer vision for plant phenotyping. He received the Virtual Reality Society of Japan Paper Award (2012) and the IPSJ/IEEE Computer Society Young Computer Researcher Award (2023), among others. He is a member of IEEE, IEICE, IPSJ, and VRSJ.
