Dr. Azamat S. Madibekov is the Head of the Laboratory of Hydrochemistry and Environmental Toxicology and an Associate Professor with extensive experience in environmental sciences. He is a highly qualified researcher specializing in the study of ecological processes and environmental safety. Dr. Madibekov is the author of several monographs and educational manuals, making a significant contribution to the development of hydrochemical and ecotoxicological research in Kazakhstan. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to scientific excellence and interdisciplinary collaboration, playing a key role in the development of national environmental monitoring strategies and academic programs.
Dr. Laura Ismukhanova, PhD, is a Senior Researcher at the Laboratory of Hydrochemistry and Environmental Toxicology at the Institute of Geography and Water Safety, and a Senior Lecturer at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, a Master of Science, and a PhD, she has extensive research experience in monitoring the levels and spatial distribution of harmful substances in the natural environment, including surface waters, bottom sediments, soils, solid atmospheric deposits, and aquatic organisms, and assessing their impact on ecosystems. She is highly qualified in aquatic toxicology and atomic absorption spectrophotometry. Professor Dr. Christian Opp is a distinguished scholar and professor at Philipps University of Marburg, Germany. Holding a doctoral degree in natural sciences, he has built an outstanding academic career in the fields of physical geography and environmental research. Professor Opp is widely recognized for his work on soil erosion, hydrology, and landscape ecology, with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes. Botakoz Sultanbekova is currently a first-year doctoral student at Al-Farabi Kazakh National
