Gab-Su Seo received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Seoul National
University, Seoul, South Korea, in 2015. From 2016 to 2017, he was a Research
Associate with the Colorado Power Electronics Center, University of Colorado,
Boulder, CO, USA. Since 2018, he has been with the Power Systems Engineering
Center, National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), Golden, CO, USA, where he
is currently a Senior Electrical Engineer and leads R&D projects on power
electronics and power systems applications. He has coauthored more than 100
journal and peer-reviewed conference papers and won one IEEE Transactions Best
Paper Award. He coauthored the Research Roadmap on Grid-Forming Inverters
(NREL, 2020). He has been listed in the World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford
University since 2022. From 2020, Dr. Seo is an IEEE Roadmap Working Group
Chair of the International Technology Roadmap of Power Electronics for
Distributed Energy Resources (ITRD)—WG3. He is an Associate Editor of the IEEE
Transactions on Power Electronics and the IEEE Transactions on Industry
Applications. He is currently the Vice Chair of the IEEE Power Electronics
Society Technical Committee on Sustainable Energy Systems (IEEE PELS TC5), the
IEEE Industrial Electronics Society TC on Smart Grid (Microgrids and DERs), and
the IEEE PELS Denver Section.
