Author Biographies

Zhiguo An is an associate researcher at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He graduated from China University of Geosciences with a Bachelor’s degree in geology and geophysics in 2000, as well as a Master’s in earth exploration and information technology in 2005. He received his PhD in solid geophysics from the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 2008. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, from 2008 to 2013. He became an associate researcher at the institute in January 2014. He was a visiting scholar at the University of Alberta, Canada, from 2016 to 2017. He has presided over/participated in many scientific research projects and has won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2019, the first prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Chinese Society of Rock Mechanics and Engineering in 2018, the Outstanding Science and Technology Achievement Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2015, and the first prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Chinese Geophysical Society in 2015. His research direction is the geoelectromagnetic method.
