Denise Grotto graduated in Pharmacy and Biochemistry—Clinical and Toxicological Analyses. She holds a Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and a Ph.D. in Toxicology. Currently, she is a professor at the University of Sorocaba. Since 2019, she has been leading the Toxicological Research Laboratory—Lapetox Uniso. Her main areas of expertise include oxidative stress, antioxidants, nutraceuticals (including edible mushrooms), biomaterials (scaffolds and bacterial cellulose membranes), bioremediation, environmental toxicology, and environmental contamination. She currently coordinates the Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Sorocaba and is a partner at the Bioloxcell startup.
