Author Biographies

Dr. Kim Ho Yeap earned his Bachelor of Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Petronas, followed by a Master of Science from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and a PhD from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman. He completed research attachments at the University of Oxford in 2008 and the Nippon Institute of Technology in 2015. Currently an Associate Professor at UTAR, he has served in various academic leadership roles, including Head of Programme, Head of Department, and chairperson of multiple institutional committees. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and IETI and a Member of IET and IAENG. He is professionally certified as a Chartered Engineer (UK Engineering Council), Professional Engineer (Board of Engineers Malaysia), Professional Technologist (Malaysia Board of Technologists), and ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer. Since 2005, he has published over 200 scientific contributions, including three patents, around 105 journal articles, 51 conference papers, 15 books, and 28 book chapters. His research has notably advanced the design of receiver optics for the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA). He actively contributes as a reviewer, external examiner, course assessor, Editor-in-Chief of i-manager’s Journal on Digital Signal Processing, and as a member of numerous editorial and advisory boards. His achievements include the UTAR Teaching Excellence Award, Kudos Awards from Intel Microelectronics, research grants, and first prizes in symposium and competition settings.
