Dr. Rajan Shrestha is an early career research scientist, who received his PhD in Agronomy from Texas A&M University, TX, USA in 2022. He currently serves in a role of Postdoctoral Research Associate at Texas A&M AgriLife Research Center at Amarillo, TX. His research interests and specialization lie in the field of Agronomy and Crop Physiology. Dr. Shrestha completed his M.S. in Plant, Soil, and Environmental Science from West Texas A&M University, TX, USA in 2018. He has been awarded with the Excellence Fellowship from the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences, Texas A&M University (2018), the B.A. and Jane Ann Stewart Dryland Agriculture Scholarship, West Texas A&M University (2017), and the Anne van den Ban Scholarship from Wageningen University & Research Center, 2016. He is an active member of professional organizations, including the Agronomy Society of America, the Crop Science Society of America, the Soil Science Society of America, and the Association of Nepalese Agricultural Professionals of Americas (NAPA), where he also serves as an editor for a quarterly newsletter. In addition to his professional roles, Dr. Shrestha contributes to the scientific community as a peer reviewer for multiple journals and currently serves as a guest editor for a special issues of the Irrigation Science Journal.
