Daniel Rothbart received his Ph.D. in philosophy from Washington University, St. Louis, and began his academic career in the Department of Philosophy at GMU. He also held positions as a visiting research scholar at Linacre College, Oxford, University of Cambridge and Dartmouth College. Daniel Rothbart is the Druscilla French Chair in Conflict Analysis and Resolution at the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution, George Mason University. He specializes in the prevention of mass violence, ethnic conflicts, power and conflict, the ethics of conflict resolution, civilians in war and the psycho-politics of conflict. He currently serves as co-director of the Program on Prevention of Mass Violence. He is also the director of the Transforming the Mind for Peace Laboratory .
Dieter Pfoser is a Professor at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, and currently the Chair of the Dept. of Geography and GeoInformation Science and the Director of GMU’s Center for Geospatial Intelligence. He has a PhD in computer science from Aalborg University, Denmark, and his research interests include data management and machine learning for spatial and spatiotemporal data, graph algorithms for dynamic networks, and mining user-generated content. He has co-authored over 100 papers and a book on "Map Construction Algorithms". Over the years, Dr. Pfoser has been the PI/co-PI/Project Coordinator of more than 20 collaborative research projects involving partners from academia, industry, and the federal government. His research has been supported by NSF, DARPA, IARPA, NGA, DHS, and the European Commission.
