Seong-Eun Kim received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electronics and electrical engineering from the Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), Pohang, South Korea, in 2004 and 2010, respectively. From 2011 to 2014, he was a Research Staff Member with the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology, Yongin, South Korea. From 2014 to 2017, he was a Postdoctoral Associate with the MIT/Harvard Neuroscience Statistics Research Laboratory, Cambridge, MA, USA, focusing on developing neural signal processing algorithms. From 2017 to 2021, he was an Assistant Professor with the Department of Electronics Engineering, Hanbat National University, Daejeon, South Korea. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Artificial Intelligence, Seoul National University of Science and Technology, Seoul, South Korea. His research interests include statistical and adaptive signal processing, biomedical signal processing and engineering, and deep learning for neural decoding techniques, such as brain-computer interfaces.
