Graduated in Pharmacy from the Spanish Faculty of Pharmacy of the University Complutense of Madrid (UCM) in the year 1986. In the year of 1991, she obtained her PhD in Chemistry from the University of Murcia (Spain). Currently she leads a research group called the “Phytochemistry and Healthy Foods Lab" (LabFAS), with over 200 SCI-indexed publications focused on phytochemicals in food, analysis, processing, and health. According to Google Scholar, her h-index is 84 (i10 index: 188) with over 22,414 citations. Scored in the best 2% of scientists on the Stanford list. Elected Full Member (Académica de Número), Academy of Sciences of the Region of Murcia (2024), in recognition of her scientific excellence, leadership, and impact in agri-food and environmental research.
