Ciprian Bolohan holds a PhD in Agronomy from the University of Agronomic
Sciences and Veterinary Medicine – Faculty of Agriculture, Bucharest,
Romania. With over 10 years of experience in research and technical work in
agronomy, he has been involved in field and laboratory research activities on
plant crop development under the influence of environmental and technological
factors. He currently holds the position of research engineer within the Soil
Science Department – Faculty of Agriculture. His research includes in-depth
evaluation of topics in the field of current interest: elements of sustainable
agriculture, conservation of soil resources, agricultural biodiversity,
alternative crops, biomass resource production, and circular bioeconomy. He is
currently affiliated with the following scientific organizations: the European Weed
Research Society (EWRS), European Society for Soil Conservation (ESSC), and
Romanian National Society for Soil Science (RNSSS).
Costel Mihalascu
holds a PhD in Horticulture from the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary
Medicine, Bucharest, Romania, and has over 10 years of experience in research,
technical activity, and farm management. He currently serves as the General
Manager of the Agricultural Research and Development Didactic Station Moara
Domnească (RDSS Moara Domnească), managing the research, production, and
development activity as well as being responsible for the strategic planning of the
station. His work is closely aligned with the fulfillment of
the academic and research mission of RDSS Moara Domnească through the
implementation of research and development projects, with the aim of promoting
the concepts of sustainable agriculture, biodiversity conservation, and the
application of circular economy principles. In addition, he actively supports
the educational and research initiatives of the faculties within USAMV
Bucharest by facilitating the development of scientific projects and
internships for students.
Vasileios P. Vasileiadis has a PhD in
Agronomy from the University of Reading, UK, and has more than 20 years of
experience in research, technical, international consultancy, and industry
positions, working on Integrated Pest Management (IPM), agronomy, biodiversity,
sustainability, and stewardship topics. His current work is with the Syngenta Group as
the Global Lead on Digital Sustainability Products. Previously, he worked for
the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) on two major EU projects, called ENDURE
and PURE, working on IPM strategies and analysing the sustainability of key
cropping systems in Europe, and also worked as an International Consultant
for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations on the
framework of various projects in the CIS region, focussing on sustainability
assessment and IPM promotion, implementation, and training.
