The author graduated in Biological Sciences, followed by a Masters and Doctorate in Biological Sciences, from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, including a sandwich internship at Wageningen University and Research Center. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher (FAPERJ) at the Laboratory of Ecology and Physiology of Phytoplankton, State University of Rio de Janeiro. She has experience in the area of ecology, with an emphasis on limnology, working mainly on the themes of ecology of tropical aquatic ecosystems, phytoplankton ecology, ecophysiology and toxicology of harmful cyanobacteria, and planktonic interactions.
