Dr. Martin E. Romero-Sanchez is a Senior Researcher at the National Institute of Forestry, Agriculture and Livestock Research of Mexico. He completed his PhD studies in Environmental Sciences at Trent University, and has been awarded as National Researcher Level 1 (Mexico) and several scholarships and grants by the Mexican Government. He recently led the Forest Aboveground Biomass Estimation project in the central part of Mexico and added to the understanding of the role of the periurban forest of Mexico City in ecosystemic services dynamics. He has published more than 30 papers in various journals and serves as a reviewer, editor, and consultant for international entities. His teaching disciplines include Remote Sensing for Forestry applications, GIS, Spatial Analysis, Climate Change, and his interests include Forest Ecosystem Services, Forest degradation and deforestation, and Monitoring and Assessment of Terrestrial Ecosystems.
